I know Mondays are supposed to suck. It's MONDAY. But I think it's time to take back the way we start the week. I don't want to dread it anymore; I want to wake up excited every day of the week. To do that, I follow three rules that I set as my intention for the day...even the dreaded Mondays.
1. Be Kind
You never know who is dealing with a bad day, week, month, year...and a little kindness can go a long way, even to people who are returning your kind with their rude. Just remember, it's not about you, it's about their own bad day. So let it go, and keep on with kindness.
2. Be Curious
Treat the start of each day as though it's an undiscovered adventure, and try to learn something new every day. Even the smallest discoveries are good for you in all sorts of ways, mentally, physically, emotionally. Right now, I'm obsessed with podcasts (like 99% Invisible and Science Vs are a couple of recent favorites) and free online workshops (CreativeLive is awesome!). There is so much free education out there, and it's so easy to use.
3. Be Bold
This. Always this. No matter what you're doing in life, do it boldly. Be different. Be weird. Take what makes you unique and don't be afraid to show it off. It's the weird bits that are fun, so don't be afraid of them—embrace your weird. Fully.
